The occasion is ma-in-law’s 60th birthday. All her grandkids are coming (no mean feat) and it should be a wonderful time for all. There’s a real feeling of coming out of the gloom and doom of winter and I think this party will just accentuate that. The feeling of renewal at this time of year is always beautiful.

My ebay listings end tonight. All the relatives who asked me to list items for them will be sitting round their computers watching as the bids climb higher in the final few seconds. All hoping that they’ll get just a little bit more than they really expect. We shall have to see whether I disappoint them!

Having a late Sunday breakfast this morning. In fact I’m being called that it’s ready so I’m off to see the Wizard. AKA my wife!

My son’s just had some friends round. It always starts off great, but then he goes into hyper mode and acts giddy and reckless and his friends always follow suit. I don’t want to come down on him like a ton of bricks at that sensitive age of ‘almost 12′, but he never seems to learn from friendly warnings. He does like to cross the line to see if it’s really there. He just doesn’t seem to remember from one episode to the next that my lines ARE written in stone!

I guess I was a young boy once, too. But then again I was “practically perfect in every way”.

And no prize to the first person who can tell me where that line came from!
