Creative writing course

I’ve found a local (very local) creative writing course. It starts tonight and there’s one space left so I have to get over there quick to sign up and hope nobody’s beaten me to it. Best part of all, it’s a free course.

I have no idea what level of instruction the course will offer, but there will be other like-minded souls and I’m sure we can all bounce off each other. The social aspect of it will be quite nice, too, although I’m having to ask my sister to help out tonight by watching my kids for an hour or two, so I don’t know whether I can arrange things to ensure I can attend each week for the next ten weeks.

Soon see, won’t we?

I’m chuckling here. I suppose that “no comments” means that everyone is jealous and thinking that now that you have attended a creative writing class, you won’t speak to them.

So how was it? Did you enjoy it?

Go for it, Amin! I am sure you’ll have a lot of fun doing the exercises, also, it will be nice for you to meet other writers in your area. Let us know how it goes!

Well, in the end I was stuck in traffic trying to get home to drop my kids off for babysitting before going to the course. So I ended up missing it. Traffic was unbelievable this evening. But that could just be that I’m not used to rush hour traffic anymore. At least the course repeats in November so I’ll get chance then. I’ll leave more travelling time, too.

Oh my. I’m so sorry. I know you would have enjoyed it.

I’m rethinking my rethinking about being tagged. Is it too late?

That was a quick response, Roberta!

I’d love for you to do the tag thing. It’s quite a revealing exercise and great for all us nosy people!

I’ve just read a story by Brandon. Well worth a read at http://beardedtoad.blogspot.com/2006/09/get-tested.html

Well, I’m done. A lady always has the perogative to change her mind, don’t ya know. ;)

    I hope I don’t make you sorry.

Now, if I just had 5 friends. :::sigh:::

Have you checked out your local Borders? (Do you have Borders bookstore where you live?) They often have writing groups that meet once a week. I just saw the flyer for my local one but I understand they are doing this in various Borders stores.

I hope you DO make it to the writing course in November. It would be interesting to hear about it.

Hi Amin – I’m kind of back now, although my connection at home hasn’t been resolved yet. I would certainly recommend any writing course (having myself just recently commenced upon a Short Story Course). Obviously the studying element can only be beneficial to anyone, but also mixing with other like minded people is a brilliant way to develop as a writer.

On a side note, as I have been out the loop for a number of weeks – whatever happened to the writing challenge? Did it get finished?
