I’ve had some fun with eBay this week. First, we sold my mother-in-law’s car, sight unseen, on eBay to some chap from London who then took the train to Wakefield this morning to pick up the car. The strange thing is that he never once asked a question on eBay. Although there were lots of good photos it’s still strange to think that someone would get on a train to pick up a car they’d never seen!
The transaction went smoothly, anyway, and he’s now interested in my Apple Mac Powerbook which I’ve got on there. I’ve put the link to that sale on here because you never know, do you?
So then this evening I put on a spare set of Panther retail discs and they sold within 5 minutes. Yes, 5 minutes! Great. I love eBay. What’s nice is that someone else can have the benefit of items that have been sitting in my cupboard doing nothing.
I have a few more items to list on eBay, but I’m not sure of the best time. I have two clarinets which I think would be best listed around the start of the new school term in September. We’ll see. I’ve already listed my Psion travel modem and that’s on until next Saturday.
Although I’m talking about selling I’ve probably actually bought more on eBay than I’ve sold. Over the next month or two I guess the ratio will reverse. I did a listing for my brother-in-law, Phillip, so he can sell his Mac (no link to his eBay listing!!) and buy a new one with the money!
