Quo Vadis?

I saw a delightful little vignette of life this morning. The owner of a business next door was walking into work, for whatever reason I don’t know, and I could see him through the window, possibly 150-200 feet away.

As I was looking a car pulled up at the side of him. His brother, I believe. He stopped and the owner got into the car and completed the rest of his journey by car – all 150 feet of it. They must have had a lot to talk about in the 13 seconds it took them to drive into work.

And I thought I didn’t like walking!

It was probably more about the opportunity to chat and commune than about not walking! :-) But you have to love the funny little things people do!

Atyllah, I know that’s what they were really doing, but it just looked so funny. It reminds me of an episode of Vicar of Dibley (I do love Dawn French – she’s so sexy and funny) when the Vicar got a taxi to go from one house to her own. It was 20 yards away. It only works as a sight gag, but if you see it it’s hilarious.

    This reminded me of that!

  3. If it was a brother, they probably had something confidential to discuss that they didn’t want others to see. I think the subject of walking was furthest from their minds. It’s happened with me too. Sometimes when something needed to be talked about confidentially/urgently when I lived in Australia, and all we had left was a couple of minutes, then we would sit in the car to talk. And also when it concerned family matters or very close friends and situations applicable to that aspect. Often spontanous!

By the way, sorry I’ve had your short story the last couple of days. I waited for it, the longest time and when it finally arrived, it was at a very bad time for me. Will send it off today.

LOL! Or maybe he was lazy and bummed a ride from his brother?!

Kidding aside, that IS a charming scene. It begs to be written about.
