It’s occurred to me that I still don’t post anything like as much as I would like to on this blog.
And it’s not really lack of time now. I’ve just got out of the habit.
Habit’s a funny thing. Or call it routine, if you prefer. There are some things we just wouldn’t ever forget. For most of us getting a shower and cleaning our teeth is something you don’t have to remember to do – we just find the time and do it, no matter what.
I think it’s the same with posting to a blog.
If you make it a part of your life it will just happen. The time will appear. So I’ve decided, after some thinking about this, that I’m going to post on Friday mornings in future. Every Friday I’m going to post a short story. Good or bad.
And if I get round to writing my novel – I have a great one in mind – I’ll serialise it and post chapters on Fridays.
I’m realistic enough to know that I probably won’t post every day, so making a commitment to post every week at the same time seems like a sensible compromise.
Ok, I’ve said it out loud so now I have to do it.
