The morning after

Well, I drank most of the bottle of wine last night and as I was making my late night entry I could feel myself having difficultly typing. As I said at the time it was a lovely feeling. The thing is I’ve woken up this morning feeling very refreshed and energetic. Now I know it’s not a good idea to use drink to promote sleep, but I must say last night seems to have knocked me out for the count and done the trick. I shan’t be doing it on a regular basis (I drink once or twice a month, max) but I’m very glad I did it last night.

I’ve been working at home today – most pleasant it was too – and I’ve found out my ecommerce payment processing has been approved so I just need to complete the integration and switch it on. Then I can start promoting the site properly. I did have a brief moment of panic earlier when I made just a ‘small’ change to the site and it stopped working! I’ve fixed it now by reversing the change, but boy does it hammer home the need to document every change you make. And to test before putting something on your live server. The more I see of my new site the more I like the look of it. I think it looks pretty professional myself. I’ve compared it to a lot of the competition and it holds up pretty good, I’d say. I can’t wait to get on with the second and third sites, but I want to nail this properly before moving on. Learn once, implement many times. Good rule.

Still haven’t written a word for my novel – which was the point of this blog in the first place. Never mind, it’ll come and in the meantime I’m finding it cathartic to get this down on virtual paper. I’ve only had a few visitors, but like anything it takes time to build. I wish there were 48 hours in a day and we didn’t need sleep!
