I’ve just been reviewing my server logs to see whether I’m anywhere on the face of the internet yet and I discover that Yahoo are now slurping me so at least it’s started. Getting good positioning takes time of course.
I also noticed something interesting called Linkie Winkie which you can visit here if you want to. It appears to be an attempt to gain good SE positioning by word of mouth to a specific type of community; the blogging community. Now I don’t know exactly how Linkie Winkie works, but a couple of people have speculated about it and it seems like a mention in your blog may get you a mention on the Linkie Winkie home page (there is only one page, with a few links on it).
Linkie Winkie may be a good idea, a viral marketing technique, a social experiment, or just a great joke, but it’s certainly interesting and I shall follow it with some degree of amused interest!
